Solidarity March: Panic Grips Civil Service

Sarjo Bayang warns in September 2012

Panic and anxiety is gripping the Gambia’s Civil Service, with civil servants waiting to be punished.

Everything was going normal at the Civil Service until Wednesday afternoon when a letter from the State House was received by all the government departments and their line ministries stating that “it is compulsory on all Civil Servants to take part in a Solidarity March.” The stage managed march, to be held in Banjul on Thursday July 30th, is meant for the pardoned Mile 2 prisoners to express their appreciation to President Yahya Jammeh.

But a letter from the Office of the President makes it mandatory on “all civil servants and released inmates to attend the march or face punishment.”

Our sources said the President’s Office wants to get the names of any Civil Servant who refuse to grace the scheduled march.

Desperate civil servants who spoke to Kairo News would not understand why the President wants them to be part of something that does not concern them. “It is all part of President Jammeh’s desperate moves to force us to sing his praises; it is a cheap propaganda,” said a disstressed civil servant.

President Jammeh has been imitating the behaviours of the Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein of Libya and Iraq, respectively. Both former leaders forced their subjects to love and adore them more especially when they knew their days were numbered.

  1. This is disgraceful and despicable act. Gambia has become a land of slavery where the slavemaster decide what the slaves should do or shouldn’t do . What a shame to see an entire nation being ensalved . The trend of Gambia’s political and governance situation is very similar to pre-conflict period In Iraq , Liberia , sierraleone , Lybia and other countries which had experience wars or civil disobedience.

  2. It is very similar to pre-conflicts, Maxs, but we will learn from those conflicts & repercussions, to curtail the struggle to specific areas for success with minimal consequences…

The International Community & rest of world know those stage managed so-called solidarity marches, demonstrations in Gambia are COERCIVE in nature…

People, civil service are COERCED, THREATENED into demonstration FORCEFULLY, show of so-called solidarity with the supreme Murderous kanilai Killer DEVIL for image cleansing…

Yet, EVIL MURDEROUS yaya jammeh itself, is against demonstration; as we all remember when EVIL yaya gave orders to EVIL Edward, Isatou njie Saidy & co to unleash the evil murderous thugs with guns so-called security on the bloodied April 2000 demonstration, when students had marched of solidarity for their aggrieved fellows, a female student raped by the Murderous kanilai Syndicate security, & the male student tortured to death by MERE fire & ambulance service personnel, which got nothing to do with law & order like police, showing the rot of state of affairs in Gambia for past 21 years…

The kanilai Murderous DEVIL is cornered; it is hobbling on either leg at a time; not long to go for now…

The International Community & rest of the world do understand that the so-called solidarity march are about acknowledgement seeking campaigns, for possible tap of funds, loans & grants, which in our unfortunate case, are RATHER for personal aggrandizement of the most corrupt MURDERER in Gambian history…

The restoration of sanity, rule of law, justice, fair play, peace & tranquillity back in Gambia will be achieved NO MATTER HOW it takes…

History through the dictates of truth, nature & God Almighty, always on the oppressed masses side…

God helps the collective endeavour to salvage Gambia; Ameen.
