  1. This is a good move by the president. This man is too temperamental for this position. I was all the time with the fear that he is going to put the government in a very embarrassing situation similar to the April 10th and 11th incident if remains as the Interior Minister. Congratulations to President Barrow for been decisive on this regard.

I think it is premature to condemn Mr Fatty. He was running his ministry efficiently.

However that does not shed him from dismissal if a serious breach of conduct or financial embezzlement can be attributed to him directly or those under his direct command. Therefore, until the public is thoroughly informed about the reason and rationale behind his sacking, I would refrain from a judgement. We must be alerted; the Tambadou brothers committed an earlier breach of confidence in the ongoing case of Solo Sandeng’s Killers and today Ba Tambadou is awarded the responsibility of overseeing the justice ministry. This act dismays me.

With all due respect to the president, we must thread very carefully on this very thin line between those who wish to see effective ministers go away and our obligation in honouring the sacrifices made by many figureheads in bringing about this govt. Mr. Fatty belongs to this figurehead.

Indeed probity must be the guiding principle and there cannot be any excuse for embezzlement and corruption.

However, if the sacking is motivated by a narrow sectional opinion to weaken a part of the coalition, the action today will backfire terribly politically. The decisive voter blocks will not be easily convinced and would certainly characterise this move as an efforts of elements trying to wedge division and suspicion within the strategic alliance. That must be avoided at all cost! For divided we fall!

A real mistake. A serous one for that matter. Let’s just wait. The whole coutry wil soon see the mistake. My question now is, where did he go wrong or what has he done?
