Jammeh Is Our Common Enemy

Lamin Saddam SanyangBy Lamin Saddam Sanyang, The Netherlands

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my brothers and sisters for the job well done they did at the demonstration that took place in Washington, D. C. You guys did a wonderful job. I’m really proud of you and I salute you all.

Folks, our brothers and sisters told the whole world in DC that the Gambians in the United States are now ready to join together as one to get rid of our one and only one common problem, and that is our idiot monster calling himself a president.

As I was following the demonstration on the radios, I can hear the voices of different people from different groups and organisations, all
of these different groups and organisations were there on one purpose. They worked hand in hand together to make sure that our idiot monster shivering in his pants inside his hotel room.

As far as we all are having one common problem, then why can’t we join together as one and fight a between brutal regime of
President Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh? Why can’t we take the D. C. demonstration as our sample and join hand in hand to uproot President Jammeh’s government once and for all? Although we cannot all be in the same group or in the same organisation, but all these groups and organisations can collectively join together as one to get rid of President Jammeh and his bunch of criminals.

As far as there is a way of creating differences between us, then there most be a way also to unite. Though is a human nature to have
fight, but after fighting we most also find a way to reconcile. I know there are wolves in the sheep clothing within us, but when ever we are united, we can simply expose them out. We are having intellectuals within us, we are having wealthy people within us and we are also having foolish, stupid and poor idiot like myself in the fight but that doesn’t mean that we cannot join together and
fight to end the dictatorship of President Jammeh.

President Jammeh and his bandits are continuously killing our people back at home, raping our sisters on a daily basis without any hesitation, whiles we are here in the diaspora opening our big mouths, shouting and againsting each other’s ideas and putting our personal problems and differences ahead of our national problems. SHAME ON ALL OF US!!! Critism and self critism guarantee the healthy development of the struggle or fight we are doing, but not in sense to criticise to damage each other’s images or character.

There is one thing we don’t understand or refuse to understand, and that is: Allah (SWT) have already chose the successor of
President Jammeh even before we were all born. Believe me or not brothers and sisters, that is what is going to happen and nobody can stop that from being happen, so why are we keep on pulling and pushing each other on the way?

Our struggle or fight is to liberate ourselves from the chain of self colonialism and dictatorship. The problem is to develop a political power which can manoeuver intelligently without the aprong sting of self centeredness, corruption, power hungry and oustantational life styles.

The collective leadership of all the groups and organisations should ensure the cohesion of revolutionary movement or so-call democratic mobile as a monolithic forces to eradicate poverty, rebellion, hunger, illiteracy and maintain peace for the mass on whose couse they claimed to be helping. All earth born earned foundamental right as a NATURAL CITIZEN regardless of colour, ethnicity, religious and social status.

I frequently say it on my weekly radio program, that I’m appealing to the Gambians especially those in the diaspora to forget about our
personal problems and differences and unite against getting rid of President Jammeh’s regime, because we are tired of the barbaric, cruel and brutal style of President Jammeh’s ruling. We need to free our brothers and sisters from the yoke of President Jammeh’s slavery.

We have to act fast before it will be too late. On a daily basis, we are talking on online radios and writing articles on the online
newspapers on how to weaken President Jammeh. If we all mean what we say and write, what is then stopping us from rallying behind one body and take our country from the brink of tyranny. It’s sad for us to keep on saying united we stand, divided we fall and yet we fail
to show the power of unity. Instead we are dividing ourselves everyday. In that case, we are fooling ourselves by arming President Jammeh with enough ammunition to strike us down. Our success and failure lies with our ability or inability to unite against our common problem.

Gambians unlike our Senegalese neighbour are not mature in politics ,but i think little by little we are learning ,and this may take a little time .Senegal with their trouble region of Cassamance are able to leave in peace ,harmony, democracy and tolerance since Independence . We have to put behind every thing and come together for a common goal .We have to think about the next generations to come ,they will be asking what have our parents done .were they united or fighting between themselves ?.
