Baldeh Family Appreciates Support

The Late Buba Baldeh

On behalf of my family, the Basse Mansajang Kunda community, Upper River Region and The Gambia at large, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you all for your relentless supports during these hard times. Your kind words and the wonderful memories you’ve shared about my late father, have helped lift our spirits. You all have shown that my father, the late Honorable Bubacarr Baldeh, was a bonafide son of the land and generally loved for the good that he did in this world.

As Muslims, we have accepted the loss in good faith as Allah’s doing as HE the Almighty is the one we all came from and the one we shall all return to. We ask for your continuous prayers for Allah to grant him the highest Jannatul Firdaws.

We are grateful to the Senegalese Government for giving him residency these past years and we would like to also extend our sincere gratitude to the Medina Gunas community for giving him a beautiful, fitting funeral.

Although we have accepted his death in good faith, we are, however, disturbed about the decision made by the Gambian state to not allow our family pay their last respects and honor my father’s final wish and inalienable right to be buried in his homeland.

We are grateful to the media for their support and have received your requests for an interview. At this time, we are focused on consoling each other within the family and are still mourning the loss of our dear father, uncle, grandfather, the late Honorable Bubacarr Baldeh.

Below is a short profile of the late Honorable Bubacarr Baldeh;we are working on a detailed one which we will provide to you down the road.

  1. My heart felt condolences to the Baldeh Kundas, Basse Mansajangkunda, URR and entire Gambians, I came to know late Buba closely in Dakar Senegal, where we were lived together in exile. Alh. Buba played a pivotal role during my research project with HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH. on the human rights condition of the Gambia. My boss Corinne Dufka, I and the entire research team are still very grateful to Buba for enabling us connect to all exiled Gambians in Senegal. Buba even connected our team to some of the victims living in the Gambia.

I was really moved after watching this video of Buba Baldeh in Dakar. I think his son should be given a position in cabinet when change is delivered as a mark of honour to Hon. Buba Baldeh banna.

    Thanks
